French Gothic Barrette

This gorgeously detailed barrette originates from a design carved in France in the late 1800s. The design was replicated into an impression die which was then used as the mold for the copper. After pressing the copper into the mold, the design was carefully sawed out, filed, sanded, oxidized, and riveted to the barrette mechanism.

Note: Due to the intricate details of the design, a microcrystalline wax is used to seal the front of the piece. This will prolong the shine and carefully crafted patina of the copper.
